It’s been a while, but 2016 is going to see the long awaited return to the stage of Zwart Licht (‘black light’), one of Holland’s most explosive hip-hop acts. Not counting 2012’s Leeroy Draait Door, which was basically a Leeroy solo record, it’s been six years since the group’s last album, No Juju. Since then, frontman Akwasi finished drama school, became a regular presence on national TV, established his own label Neerlands Dope, and released 2014’s acclaimed #DaarErgens. Joined once again by DJ/producer Hayzee and Leeroy, Akwasi has promised to delivered ‘the hardest Zwart Licht album ever’. From the people that brought you songs like ‘Vanaf Nu’, ‘Back-Up Staat Klaar’ and ‘Blazin’’, that’s saying something.
