Fat Joe is back in a big way. Twelve years after ‘Lean Back’ hit number one in the US, he and Remy Ma have another smash on their hands with ‘All the Way Up’. It’s the type of New York summer rap jam that doesn’t get made all that often anymore. The song is so hot that Jay Z hopped on a remix and delivered his first verse in two years. But make no mistake: Fat Joe never really went away. He has been at the forefront of hip-hop ever since debuting with the classic ‘Flow Joe’ back in 1993. Albums like Don Cartagena (1998) and Jealous Ones Still Envy (2001) are turn-of-the-century rap classics and even after huge hits like ‘What’s Luv?’ and ‘Lean Back’, Joe has always kept a high profile. The list of rappers who have stayed on top for as long as Fat Joe has is extremely short, and we are thrilled to have him at Appelsap.
