Momodou Jallow, better known as J Hus, is a 20-year-old singer and rapper from Stratford, East London. A signee of dance music label Black Butter Records, Hus is known for blurring the lines between afrobeat and hip hop.
His breakthrough in the scene can be attributed to his 2015 singles “Dem Boy Paigon” and “Lean and Bop”, which both enjoyed viral success and featured on various radio playlists. He released a critically acclaimed mixtape, The 15th Day, around the same time.
Hus got his first taste of chart success in 2017 with the Dave collaboration “Samantha” and the Stormzy and Ghetts collaboration “Bad Boys”. His debut album, Common Sense, features the singles “Friendly”, “Did You See” and “Common Sense”, and was released on 12 May 2017.
